Sixteen single conductors are woven together in four sections with thin threads to produce a flat cable. The forward and return conductors of the cable comprise of each eight silver-plated single strands of high-purity OF-Cu (AWG20) with an overall conductor cross-section of 2 × 4,5mm2.
Capillary air tubes between the sections provide for an additional reduction of signal loss. With the utilization of Teflon® for all insulation materials, capillary tubes and fabric, leakage values are obtained that lie below the limits if detectability.
